Laboratory

The YRC Laboratory is a multi-purpose facility that has been designed to accommodate the varying needs of its researchers. The laboratory is built to class II biosafety specifications with both wet and dry space capabilities. The laboratory includes: fridges, freezers, eye wash and shower station and standard lab equipment such as; a drying oven, fume hood, and microscopes, first aid and chemical spill kits etc. 

The laboratory also contains a work bay/preparation area where researchers can transfer materials directly from a vehicle within the facility to clean and prepare specimens or prepare and clean their gear and equipment.

The cold storage area is 146 sq/m with a fenced energy compound and is directly adjacent to the laboratory. There is also heated locked storage for sensitive equipment and gear. Short and long term storage can be arranged.
