BIOL 310: Animal Behaviour

This course examines the ecological and evolutionary factors that influence how organisms acquire resources (food, territories, mates), avoid predators, produce offspring, communicate and live socially. Material will cover a wide range of behaviours, including their proximate (how) and ultimate (why) causes, the role of the environment in their development, and their evolutionary significance, as well as the methods used to study animal behaviour. ?Prerequisite: BIOL 101 & 102 or equivalent, or permission of instructor?.
