Ross River Dene Cho Kê’endį Campus

Ross River is located in central Yukon, 360 kilometers northwest of Whitehorse at the junction of the Robert Campbell Highway and the North Canol Road, near the confluence of the Pelly River and the Ross River. The language spoken by the people of this First Nation is mainly Kaska.

Ross River Community Campus has been providing programming and services to the citizens of Ross River and area since 1985.  In 1996, Ross River elders gave the campus its Kaska name Dene Cho Kê’endį, which translates as “big people learning.” In the fall of 2000, the Campus moved to the newly constructed school and continued to be an important hub for certification, life skills training, and upgrading.

At present, the Campus offers diverse programming, including trades and safety training, wellness and fitness courses, art, culture, and leisure workshops, academic upgrading, and various mine, heritage, and employment skill development. Eight computers are available for general public use, and we are open until at least 7:30 p.m. Mondays through to Saturdays.
